Humans Of Envera: Patricia Savarie
Patricia (Patti) Savarie is a Telephonic Health and Wellness Nurse in Envera’s Engagement Call Center. Patti has been a nurse for 34 years and embodies Envera’s patient-centric mission. We are lucky to have her.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
“My father. He was always upbeat and a hard worker, [with a] positive attitude and had very strong faith. My father loved people and always tried putting others before himself. It’s probably why I became a nurse. I’ve been a nurse for 34 years and I’ve been through many types of nursing but always wanted the patient to be the center focus so I felt like I was giving back.”
What’s the biggest challenge you face working at Envera?
“Sometimes it’s struggle to keep the patient information straight while you’re talking to someone who’s stressed out but I remind myself to calm down and focus on getting the patient the assistance they need.”
What’s one of your proudest moments working at Envera?
“With Envera we get to speak to many people and help out with those patients that are really falling between the cracks. Sometimes discharge instructions aren’t really getting through to the patients because they are too stressed. We get a second chance with the patient when they’re at home and calmed down. We can access the symptoms and help them with their medications and get them to their next level of care if they need it. We also can help them with their lab results or diagnoses. It’s really about listening moving the patient forward with their health.”
How do you deal with difficult times?
“During hard times I always go back to The Bible. I pray everyday, Number 24-26, ‘the Lord bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.’ That’s how I try to live my life.
[After going to virtual work with Envera, I’m] grateful that with COVID I can still continue to work from home and doing the work I love.”
