How to Take Control of Your Medications

Do you feel in control of your high cholesterol or high blood pressure meds? Medication management is as much the patient’s job as it is the job of the healthcare team. But for a patient to be motivated to follow their doctor’s complex post-care instructions, they need to understand why these medications are so important  ̶  for them.

As an Engagement Services Organization, Envera Health partners with health systems to improve the customer experience. By utilizing an advanced engagement center and embracing a unique 360 degree view of the customer, we offer a complete continuum of managed services and hands-on solutions – to include helping patients follow their doctor’s medication and discharge instructions carefully.

Our clinical team works hard to make sure every patient we touch has the information they need to take control of their health  ̶  treating every patient as a “whole” person, educating and connecting them to community resources, referring to primary care physicians, and getting them access to appropriate care or medication.

We encourage all patients to take control of their health journey  ̶  starting by asking questions whenever they have any health concerns.

Three Reasons to Contact Your Health Team

Ask your Health Team if you are:

  • Unsure about your health risk and what it means for you long term, especially if you don’t start to take care of yourself now.
  • Confused about a step in your care or about a change in your care. For example, if you should finish your old medication before switching to the newly prescribed medication.
  • If you are worried about how or where you will get your medication. Often there are community resources and programs unknown to patients that can aid in transportation, healthcare costs and connecting you with a primary care doctor. Asking and getting educated on those programs is a great way to take control your health journey.

Remember, there are no stupid questions, especially when it comes to your health!
